Back in the day
Formative years:- spent on the ebb & flow of the Clyde on Scotland’s West Coast between Gourock & the Island of Cumbrae.

Early musical inspiration came via the New York CBGB scene in the mid-’70s. Bands like Mink De Ville, Talking Heads, and Television were changing the landscape. Everything was very street!. The British scene soon ignited - The Clash, Joy Division, and 999 were born and I caught the wave like so many others. Gigging & rehearsing between Glasgow & Edinburgh, gaining some success playing bass with seminal 3 piece Surf band "The Cuban Heels “ latterly being augmented by vocalist John Mullarky of the newly named “Simple Minds”

Two Albums followed with various line-up changes.
Unsettled unchallenged the sound was changing again I was searching for something, maybe a fourth note the late 70s was a revolt that had limitations.
The 80s brought a more diverse sound and rhythm. I moved south to the Thames Delta, Essex. During this time I was mainly involved in writing and production with highlights including a stint of recording in the Stones "Ron Wood’s " private studio in Wimbledon, (his guitar collection was an education).

Today, my musical influences are wide and varied from The Blue Nile, Tom Waits, to Gill Scott Heron, Ben Watt (ETBG) & Mike Scott of the Waterboys and Moloko.
